Because Dubai is a Muslim country, drinking alcohol is illegal outside of a few specially licensed "foreigners" bars, and sex outside of marriage is illegal for everyone. However, there are lots of establishments (clubs and bars) to cater to foreign tourists.

Dubai has a very good night life like the rest of the world. The night clubs close at 3 AM , and the minimum age to enter is 25 years old , with the minimum age to drink being 21 years old. They are usually found in hotels.

Some Dubai clubs have a couples only policy, with single females and couples allowed, no single males! Clubs are open to the wee hours-at least 3 a.m. on the most part, and some a little later. Only hotels/motels can obtain liquor license, therefore, nightclubs and such are inside, and 21 is the age to party, and ladies night occurs regularly.
