What is morgellons disease?

My cousin says she has Morgellons disease.

It is a skin disorder. The main symptoms are itchy sores, fatigue, poor memory, changes in behavior, stringy things coming from their skin, and they feel like insects are crawling under their skin. There is debate over whether or not Morgellons is a unique medical condition or a manifestation of another ailment, most likely a mental illness.

Morgellons is what is known as an "unexplained dermatopathy" that is characterized by sensations of stinging, biting, or crawling on the skin that may be accompanied by finding fibers in or on the skin. It is still unclear whether this is a disease with a distinct physiological cause or a psychosomatic manifestation a neuropsychiatric disorder.

Morgellons disease is a controversial ailment with no known cause and no successful treatment.it is not known to be contagious.The common symptoms are very itchy skin rashes,crawling sensations under the skin,fiber,thread,or black,stringy material in or on the skin,fatigue,and joint pain.it has been reported in every state,but the most cases have been in California,Texas,and Florida.

Another symptom of morgellons disease is finding fibers underneath the skin and constant skin rashes and sores. Many doctors believe this disease is a manifestation of many other medical ailments.
