Wow looks like you almost got the instructions about what is involved but it didn't mention attach white wire to white wire and red wire to black wire and to wrap some electrical tape around each of them. Attach the detector to wall and then turn power on and test.

Turn off the power via circuit breaker, remove light fixture, use voltage meter to make sure power is off, disconnect wires, remove access hole caps, make sure rubber grommet is attached to threads, insert wires through access hold and attach, wire strip away excess insulation so you have 3/4" exposed.

Consult the manual that comes with your motion detector. It will have full instructions regarding how to do the wiring and will also give you any troubleshooting tips that you might need. If you did not get a manual or instructions contact the manufacturer of the part that you purchased.

Good idea since the instructions will tell some how to personalize the settings for how long the light stays on and what distance it will turn on from etc  add a comment
