Cirrus needs plenty of room and water. Being a night blooming plant, it must be planted where it can obtain plenty of shade so it does not become scorned. Having multiple Cirrus near each other will help each plants survival. Planting near walls or fences also aids in the growth. This allows vines to grow and support the plant.

Propagation occurs naturally if you let your plant run along the ground. The runners will take root and as soon as it is established, dig it out and plant it.

Night-blooming cereus can be propagated simply by planting a 12-inch section of a stem in a pot or directly in the ground. Provide the plant with a trellis to encourage unobstructed growth. Water the plant thoroughly, but let the top third of the soil dry before watering again.

Night blooming cereus is very easy. Simply cut a piece off and stick it in soil. You can cut the piece and leave it for weeks out of soil, and it will still root. No need for rooting hormone. Keep watered, but not soggy; don't let it freeze, ever.

Night-blooming cirrus can be propagated fairly easily through cuttings. They like sandy soil, part shade rather than full sun.
