Granulated sugar is just plain old regular sugar. It is called granulated because of the size of the crystals. You can find it in your regular grocery store in bags near the flour and other baking products. It should not be subsituted with powder sugar or raw sugar, as this will effect your cookies texture.

Granulated sugar is regular white grainy sugar, or table sugar. Powered sugar is like white powder. There is a fine table sugar. But if the recipe asks use table sugar.

Granulated sugar is another term for caster sugar. It is in granulated (like granules) instead of like powder like splenda or other sweeteners. In America it is known as superfine sugar. In Britain Tate & Lyle is the best known brand of caster sugar. It dissolves more quickly than normal sugar.

Granulated sugar is sugar that has small grains in it. It is not fine or powdered. It is more of tiny crystals that has more of a coarse feeling texture in it.
