What is Gonzo the Muppet?

Gonzo was introduced in a 1970 Muppets Christmas special as a "Frackle," known as a "Whatever" or a "Weirdo" on the Baby Muppets. He lived in a cigar box and was called the Cigar Box Frackle. In 1999's "Muppets From Space" it was revealed that Gonzo is actually an alien creature from a planet far, far away.

I always thought that he was a monster because he has that song about a monster in the mirror. I guess that just always made sense to me.
