It is a disease that affects airway passages and alveoli which makes it hard for you to breath. These diseases are mostly caused by smoking, air pollution, and are hereditary.

They are two different spectrums which are called 'pink puffer' and 'blue bloater'. They usually become dependent on oxygen at the end of their lives.
