Bracketology is process used to predict the field of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. It places teams in the tournament in various regions, but sometimes the region names are changed to reflect the city the tournament is held. Its a way to rank the teams.

It's the process of predicting the field of the NCAA Basketball tourament. It's the method they use to fill in all those brackets you see that show who has to play who in the tournament leading to the Final Four, and then the Championship. Has other applications as well.
