This is a kind of auto racing usually done on a dirt track with older model cars. The sport combines speed with attempts by drivers to smash into other cars in an attempt to damage them enough to eliminate them from the competition. It's popular in Europe. It's similar to a "demolition derby" in the U.S.A.

Banger Racing is popular in Great Britain/Ireland/Belgium/The Netherlands. It involves older cars/vehicles racing around a dirt or tarmac track. In additional to being the first to cross the the finish line, participants also attempt to crash and disable one another's vehicles: sort of a Demolition Derby with a checkered flag.
