It can be a bit uncomfortable! When getting an MRI in the head or neck area, they generally will place you in a brace to keep you still. Finding an open air MRI will help you not feel claustrophobic. They're also a bit lengthy in duration.

An MRI is absolutely painless but can be loud, they will probably give you earplugs to wear. All you have to do is remove all metal and they lay absolutely still while the machine runs. This can be really quick. The machine is a very tight fit.

a mri uses radio waves to take a picture instead of the normal x-ray. getting mri images of the neck consists of 2 to 6 picture sequences which last 2- 5 minutes. all accomplished while you are placed on a sliding table called a surface coil. normal procedure last 15 to 45 minutes.
