FPO means Fleet Post Office. Its a code for mail to military personnel over seas. APO is for mail sent to Army and Air Force personnel, FPO is for mail to Navy, Marine and Coast Guard personnel. The 2 letter code following the "FPO" shows what region of the world. Example: "FPO/AE" The AE means Europe, Canada, Middle East, Africa.

FPO stands for Fleet Post Office. It's the mail service of the United States Navy. You address any mail to your friend to that address and the navy makes sure it reaches him. From the sender's end it's functionally similar to a P.O. Box.
