At that time I would say most anything that could be made from items from home, mostly wooden, hand carved and mabe painted. "Tops" and the wooden men that dance when the controlling sticks on the sides are squeezed are fine examples. Doll houses were very popular for the girls.

Depending on what class you were, what sex you were there are many choices. Poor kids had things that they could make like rag, corn husk, or scrap cloth dolls.
