The trapezii are the two triangular muscles of the shoulder and upper back- these and the scalpular muscles support your neck- certain types of lifting or repetitive motion can strain or sprain these- it is very common in weight lifters who go beyond their limit or lift too much too fast. RICE- Rest,Ice,Compression. Elevation doesn't apply here, substitute warmth and anti-inflammatories.
