A Sub rail is the part of the rail that the rubber is attached to. Or in more simpler terms, the side of the pool table that you bank the ball off of. If you use a sold wood sub rail, you will get a better and more accurate rebound.

It is around top portion of a pool table, but you can't see it. A sub rail also called a "rail liner".Must be made to very specific dimensions and very detailed. This is where the rubber attachs and the part that contacts the slate. Bumpers are glued to subrail.

It is the side rail that the rubber glues to. It is usually made of Poplar and is what gives you a straight solid surface to mount the rubber to.

It's fastened between the rubber and the slate of the table. The tighter the rail, the better the table will play.
