I think a sleep pattern is how you generally sleep ie: what time you go to bed, how long you spend in REM, what time you usually wake up, etc.

"Sleep pattern" usually refers to a person's sleep routine (i. e. ,when they go to bed and get up), but sleep researchers may use this term to describe nocturnal EEG activity.
