A short throw shifter is a shifter that has a shortened neck. Since it is shorter, you do not have to move your arm as much to change gears. All of the gears are nice and close together, which can shorten shifting time when racing. Short throw shifters are a very common modification for racers.

The throw they are referring to is the distance that the shift lever must travel when changing gears. A short throw shifter is reduces this distance by changing the shift lever and pivot. In turn making shifting faster. As long as you purchase a quality shifter and install it correctly there should be no chance of damaging your car.

A short throw shifter is just a shorter shift knob that makes it quicker to shift since your hand doesn't have to travel as far and can not damage your car.

a short throw shifter is simply a shifter that is shortened and mounts are diferent to make your shifting motins shorter thus making them faster,its completely harmless to ur car

Short throw shifters are for manual shift cars. They decrease the distance that you have to throw the shifter to reach the next gear. They do not damage the car.
