The segment addition postulate states that if B is between A and C, then the segment from A to B added to the segment from B to C is equal to the segment A to C. Or if B is between A and C, then AB + BC = AC.

A.... B.... C, if B is in between A and C then the addition of segment AB+BC=AC and the opposite is true. If AB+BC=AC then B is in between A and C.
