This is most likely a mix between a Maltese and a Bichon Frise. They are both small breeds of dogs. They are both generally found to be 100% white. The maltese has more hair-like fur whereas the Bichon, after groomed, can look like a ball of cotton. Both very cute breeds!

A Maltese Bichon, or more popularly called, a Maltichon, is a combination of two pure bred dogs, the Maltese and the Bichon Frise. Both of those breeds are small white dogs with lots of personality and energy. They are very cute dogs. Although they are a mixed breed, some people are actively breeding the two purebreds together.

This is a cross between a Maltese and Bichon Frise. Both excellent dogs, however I hope your friend didn't pay what breeders are charging. They call this a "designer dog" but it is a mutt and not registerable with the AKC, and they are usually bred in puppy mills- buying these dogs often supports horrific breeding practices.
