Load failed can mean that the game you are trying to play is damaged or scratched or it can mean that your PS2 is dirty and needs to be cleaned.

Load fail typically means that your memory card has somehow been corrupted. Your card could be bad or need to be reformatted, or you might lose that one data item.

it may either be that the card is corrupted, needs to be formatted, it wasnt in ALL the way when you saved the game.
