A high NOx reading is the measurement of nitrogen oxides in the exhaust. It is usually caused by a bad EGR system, but can be caused by a worn out catalytic converter.

NOx reading are with the level of Carbon Deoxide level in the vehical and once the levels of CO2 are high, this indicates that the the efficiecy of the vehical will go low as the level of NOX readings will rise.
