Just like anywhere, Hawaiian funerals vary depending on church, but the Hawaiian all do have a very deep belief in the afterlife so there are a lot of ritualistic rights performed to promote well being and wishes for good luck in the next life. Guests do not dress in black, but in Aloha attire to bid farewell.

In Hawaii, for the actual funeral ceremony, people do not wear black or dark colors like we normally do. They dress entirely in Aloha attire. They have a great respect for the dead.
