I would recommend yellow. It brings the sunshine in and will make the room bright. Also, it is pretty neutral and will go with any decour.

Do not use any color that is really dark. It will only make the room appear to be smaller. Bright colors are often too much for a room that is small. It becomes overwhelming after spending tons of time in the room. So your best bet is to choose a light color. You could do light pink, purple, or green.

Stick with pale colors and a white ceiling to make the room seem larger. Soft yellow and cream are great alternatives to plain white. If her heart is set on something bolder, paint the darker color on the bottom 1/2 of the wall and something light on top. Add border paper along the line where the two colors meet.

A very pale blue (just slightly bluer than skim milk) would be yummy. Also, a pale (really pale) yellow would work. If you choose the blue the best trick would be to paint the ceiling the same color given the small size of the room. It's not a law that ceilings have to be white! This trick increases size.

When painting a small bedroom, choose a light color on all four walls to make the room seem more spacious. Accent walls are not recommended for small rooms. For a little girl; pale pink, light violet or even a soft, mint green would all look great and be easy to coordinate with. Avoid dark colors like red and navy blue.
