In regards to a t.v. in the kitchen,a 13" inch is suitable. You want a t.v. that is big enough so you can watch as you wash your dishes, not so big that it would take up space from your appliances or be too much of a distraction from your task.

It would depend on where it was going to be placed. Anything mounted under cabinets should be 10 inch or less. If you are going to have it sitting on the counter it would be ok to go a size or two bigger but any more than that would be too big.

One that bolts to the bottom of your cabinets would be perfect. About a 10" screen. It doesn't take up any counter space and it is closer to eye level.

I went with a 19 inch. I got it for free with my hdtv (bestbuy actually has this promotion RIGHT NOW). It's a good size because it's enough to watch something while you eat, but not enough to keep people in the kitchen.
