The color for ceiling paint depends upon what you want to achieve. If you want your ceilings to appear higher, paint the ceilings an off white, cream, or some other soft color. If you want the room to appear smaller, paint the ceilings darker colors to match your decor.

A good color for ceiling paint is a flat sand color! Its got a little tannish tint to it! It looks good because its neutral!

A flat white is good for making the room look as big as possible and will hide inperfections in the dry wall.

Usually you would paint ceiling white, because it is a good light color. I mean a ceiling could really be painted any color, but if it were me I would go with white. You could even go as far as painting the ceiling the same color as the room. There are no laws in painting.
