I think two years is a good age gap between siblings. If they are too clsoe in age, it can be hard on the parents and difficult for them to develop individual personalities. On the other hand, more than 2 years age difference means your kids might have a hard time playing together or identifying with one another.

My doctor said that three years has been scientifically proven to be the best gap between children, both for the parent and the siblings. The first is out of diapers when the second comes around, yet they are still close enough to be friends growing up. This certainly worked for me.

There are a couple of different ideas on the age difference. One is that the closer in age children are, the closer they will be growing up. On the other side, more of a gap may be easier on the parents.

There is no one right answer. Children closer in age are more likely to be 'friends. ' Many parents space children 4-5 years apart with the hopes of not having more than one in college at the same time and allowing them to be more individualized.
