They basically have two types of suspension on the bike which is located in the front as well as the rear of the bike.

Dual suspension bike have front and rear suspension. Dual suspension is also called as FS(Full suspension). Riding downhill with FS bike is much comfortable, but it is much difficult to climp uphill. Moreover, dual suspension bikes is much heavier, than hardtails.

Dual suspension bikes have two sets of shocks on them. One set on the front forks, the other spring shock on the back wheel. Nice if you can afford it.

A dual suspension bike is a bike that has been equipped with a suspension system to limit the amount of shock you would feel if you were to go over a big object. The 'Dual Suspension' means it has x2 the amount of shocks a regular bike has.

A dual suspension bike has a suspension fork which has 1"-5" of travel (movement) to dampen vibrations, as well as a rear spring which also provides travel.
