A dowager's hump usually occurs in post menopausal women, but are also seen in elderly males. It is a curving of the spine which causes the person to hunch. It is caused by the disintegration of the spinal disks or the cushioning lamina between them.

Dowanger's hump is a condition which causes ones back to be in a round shouldered, curved position. Dowager's hump is caused by scolosis and years of bad posture.
