A prolapsed bladder, or "dropped bladder", occurs when the bladder drops into a woman's vagina because the barrier between the two has been weakened. This is often the result of the trauma to the vaginal walls produced by multiple childbirths. As a woman ages, her estrogen levels drop which also reduces the strength of the vagina's structure.
