CD's are slowly becoming extinct, just as the floppy disk did, because of their limited space. A CD today fold 700 megabytes. While this is enough for transferring data or under 100 songs, the sharing of files today involves much higher volumes of data. A DVD-r/wr or a flash drive may be better suited for your purposes.

Well I believe that most CD-Rs have a capacity of about 700MB. After formatting though it may be smaller. CD-RWs should also have the same capacity.
