A bicentennial quarter were only minted in 1975-1976 to honor the United State's 200th birthday. They have a colonial drummer boy on the back and bear the date "1776-1976".

Bicentennial quarters were US quarters with a special design released in 1975 and 1976 to celebrate the United States bicentennial, also known as the United States' 200th birthday. They are easily recognizable by the image of a colonial drummer that appears on the reverse side of the coin. Because hundreds of millions were minted, they don't have significant collector's value.

These are quarters produced from 1977-1978 by the U.S. mint. These commemorated the colonial era of American history. They were offered in proof and uncirculated sets available for purchase through the U.S. Mint and Mint approved coin dealers.
