The Swedish people already shared a common religious and social heritage with America because of their northern European roots. From their wonderful foods(including smorgasbords to baked goods) to other cultural aspects, the Swedish people built their colony. Many became "Americanized" quickly, finding jobs as farmers or miners.

When the Swedish people came to Deleware and settled, they brought their own culture and their own lifestyles already established in Sweden, passing it down through generations.
