Russian figure skater Ekaterina Gordeeva won the pairs figure skating title with her husband Sergei Grinkov, in the 1988 and 1994 Olympics. They also won the world championship pairs title for times. She skated professionally solo after the death of her husband and didn't win any more awards but lots of appalause from audiences.

As a pair skater, Ekaterina Gordeeva won the World Junior Figure Skating Championship, as well as four senior World Figure Skating Championships. She also won two gold medals at the Winter Olympic games, and took first in the Russian, Soviet, Skate Canada International, Prize of Moscow and World Professional Championships.

Pairing with Sergei Grinkov, Gordeeva won the Olympic pairs gold in 1988 and 1994. She and her partner won the world championships in 1986, 1987, 1989, and 1990.
