Check your company policy book to see what the policies are. You will receive it if it is stated. Also check your state employment laws.

If you are owed vacation time and you are laid off from your job you should be paid for the remaining vacation hours or days.

Unless your employer makes other arrangements, you lose the money when you lose the job. You may get credited for that time if you get your job back.
