After you stop hormonal birth control you body starts making it's own hormones again when it notices the drop in artificial hormones. This could take a few months to regulate.

If you stop using birth control, your body will fall back into its natural hormonal rhythms. If you have not hit menopause, this means a return to fertility and possibility of getting pregnant. If you do not want to get pregnant, use a mechanical means of contraception like a condom.

Your body returns (in a few months) to its regular cycle and you can once again get pregnant, so be careful.

After stopping birth control, you may experience severe cramps, a slight urge to urinate more frequently, slight fluid drainage and other small cramps. Stopping birth control has about the same side effects as starting it.
