What elements would be included in a punk prom dress?

A duct tape prom dress is a good idea. However, anything with studs or bullets would be very much "punk." Or hey, just patch on some of your favorite bands!

Plaid is a main component in punk dressing, usually red plaid works best. Leather is also just as important, you could have a leather corset. The sweetheart neck line is popular with gothic or punk dresses, as are dark solid colors. So if you wish to not go wit plaid or leather, go solid.

Punk would probably mean darker colors with a bright accent, fishnet stockings, boots, a skull broach and a skull hairpin or hair ribbons in the bright accent color.

Why don't you consider making your own out of duct tape? There's a contest for the best ones each year, it's totally not traditional and you won't by putting money into the prom fashion machine.
