What does the "not ready" light mean on the catalyst monitor?

I'm not 100% sure, but it sounds like the computer is kicking up an emissions monitoring code. Take the car to a Mitsubishi shop and have it scanned, they'll be able to properly diagnose and fix the issuue.

It should go out after everything is operating correctly. With it not going out I would take it to have it serviced as it sounds like you have some malfunction.

The not ready light on your dashboard is a test to the cars engine to see if it is working properly. It is nothing to worry about.
