Juice concentrate is natural fruit juice that has some water removed from it and sometimes other flavors are added, along with sugar, usually to prolong storage of the fruit juice.

concentrate is a form of substance which has had the majority of its base component (in the case of a liquid: the solvent) removed. Typically this will be the removal of water from a solution or suspension such as the removal of water from fruit juice. One benefit of producing a concentrate is that of a reduction in body.

From what I understand concentrate is what you end up with after the water has been extracted from it. You end up with a rich product that when you add the water back into it, it is a drinkable product again. It freezes better as a concentrate and is easier to display and sell in the grocery store.

Juice concentrate is a juice mix that needs to be diluted with water before serving. Frozen juice concentrates are usually orange or grapefruit juices, while cartons are often grape or cranberry juice mixes. You'll need to read the instructions on the package before serving, but typically you mix the juice concentrate with water in a 1:1 ratio.
