Tender gums are one of the most common signs of gingivitis, especially if there is a pink tint when you spit during brushing. Switch to an antiseptic mouthwash like Listerine and use it 2 or 3 times a day swishing it around vigorously. Try to brush your teeth twice a day, brushing gently around the sorer areas.

If your gums hurt, then you may have a gum infection or the early signs of gum disease like gingivitis. You should go visit your dentist so that they can tell you what is wrong and suggest how to treat the problem.

It means that you are developing some form of gum disease. You will need to see a dentist to find out how far advanced it is and what you can do for it.

If the gus are tender and it hurts during brushing then you are having chronic gingivitis or periodontitis where the gums bleed and the tooth becomes loose.
