Dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing, could be a sign of multiple issues, but this isn't generally considered a medical symptom of importance if the occurence isn't persistent. With pain, dysphagie can be a sign of sicknesses like strept throat, tonsillitis, and others, but treatment will depend on the exact cause, so you should seek professional help if you're having this problem.

If there is any restriction in the throat there may be difficulty in swallowing. It is common when associated with a sore throat and swollen glands of the neck. But is also a symptom of throat cancer and so should be reported to a doctor.
