This is one of the symptoms of tonsillitis. Other symptoms include swollen tonsils, difficulty swallowing, fever, lymph nodes in neck swell. If caused by bacteria, you need antibiotics.

I am pretty sure that if you have white spots on your tonsils, it's a good indication that they are infected. Your best bet is to go see a doctor. He or she will probably do a strep test, feel your glands, and figure out what specifically is wrong before giving you some type of medication.

White spots on tonsils are called "tonsil stones" and are usually caused by the same virus that causes the common cold or certain bacteria. Some people get them at certain points, but you may have an infection (tonsillitis) if sore throat, fever, swelling of tonsils and/or lymph nodes accompanies it.

Not necessarily. Tonsils have spaces called tonsillar crypts, and can sometimes collect bacteria, food, saliva, etc. They are called Tonsilloliths or tonsil stones. They usually dont show symptons, but they can occasionally show some. More prominent in adults than children.

If you can see visible white spots on your tonsils then it is a good idea to visit your doctor as soon as possible. Because the possibility of your tonsils being infected are quite high. You certainly don't want to take chances with a possible infection.

It could mean that you have an infection. Food and bacteria can get trapped in little pockets or holes. It then gets infected and looks like white spots.

I have white on both tonsils and my right tonsil is swollen and it only hurts on that one side.

i have two white spots on my left toncil they look horrible i cant get rid of them i geg mear em my breaths horrid i feelsorryfor you ! if its toncil stones i feel a little sick
