A ringworm infection looks exactly the way it sounds. It has the appearance of a small to medium sized bumpy circle under the skin, and it will be fairly itchy feeling for your daughter. The "ring" may also have a splotchy area of redness surrounding it, if it has become seriously infected.

Ringworm is a reddened area on the skin that almost looks like a bullseye. Typically there is a circle surrounded by a ring around it.

Raised circles that appear on the skin (usually legs, arms, back, and stomach). Ringworm spots are red and itchy and can be transferred between people and through touching fabric (such as bed sheets or clothing) that had come in contact with an infected individual.

It is a circular or round patch of red, scaly or rough skin. The center may heal but the outer edges will stay red and inflamed.
