To the Chinese and the Japanese, a red front door is, I believe, a symbol of good luck and happiness. In Feng Shui, a red front door proclaims your fame and reputation. If a rich dark shade such as a burgundy, or perhaps a scarlet, is used, I think it also looks rather smart.

A red door welcomes good energy in the Chinese Feng Shu philosophy. Scottish homeowners painted their doors red to indicate they were without mortgages. Early American red doors meant travelers were welcome. Churches with red doors symbolized the blood of Christ or entering into holy ground.

It does not have any further significance. It just means there is a door of the house that is painted red.
