Well the rapid heart rate can be due to dehydration. Your heart functions by using electrolytes when those are off it can speed up or slow down.

A rapid heartbeat, usually over 100/minute, can be caused by dehydration which is, in turn, caused by too little fluid intake or excessive loss.
