Is it for food? Writing?

The magic press isn't for food or writing, actually. It's the name of a steam press, used to press wrinkles out of clothes.
Answer by JasPoSF (67)
The magic press is a steam iron made by the Singer company. It is most practically used when you have a large volume of clothes to iron. This seems to be mainly because of the length of time it can take to heat up.
