Babies heartrates are normally way faster than the mother's. That's just how it is. If it seeems to be abnormally fast, your doctor or midwife will advise you of the next steps to take, as the baby could be under stress.

It means that the baby is stressed some how and it's causing its heart rate to go above the normal range.

It could mean something is wrong with the baby or that it's in a lot of stress. Your baby could be just fine. Talk to your doctor about this.

Not medical advice: Depending on the stage the fetus is at the normal heart rate ranges at 5 weeks 80 bpm and 172 at 8 weeks. I would check with your OB to discuss your concerns. Best of Luck.
