What do you drink when you have a dry mouth?

Answer by  Ezequiel (117)

When I have a dry mouth I have a bottle or glass of water to drink. Usually for me it means that I'm getting dehydrated. I also drink a hydration drink called H30, it is kind of like Gatorade but it keeps the electrolytes in your system for a longer period.

When you have a dry mouth it is best to drink water. Avoid any beverage that might affect the chemistry of the mouth. Alcoholic beverages tend to add to dehydration and may cause a dry mouth to get worse. Sodas and juices are not as beneficial in hydrating your body but can be used if water is unavailable.

When I get cotton mouth I like to try and drink cold wet drinks. Ice water is my first choice and I also try to chew on the ice to help my dry mouth. My second choice is milk, and then after that I would maybe try some orang juice.

I always drink water when thirsty or have a dry mouth. using sports drinks or soft drinks or sugary drinks isn't the best idea since they can contain sodium which just makes you ever drier. Water is a natural method to quench thirst and satisy dry mouth. Also chewing gum helps.

Water is always the best thing to drink when you have a dry mouth. It hydrates and also removes any stickiness or bad taste that you have in your mouth. Sugary drinks like soda and juice do not do that and will leave you dissatisfied. Water is the best thing.
