It is much better. The dental technicians can see and do a better job of cleaning our teeth thoroughly than we can. They have the tools to scrape and pick off the hard plaque which adheres to the teeth and may cause serious gum problems.

Yes,it is better than what can be done at home. Dentists, actually use a variety of tools to professionally clean your teeth. All of which are designed to specifically clean each type of tooth. So in all honesty yes dentist tools can clean your teeth better than a toothbrush and floss. Also dentists are able to look at your teeth from each angle to throughly clean them.
