What do the ratings on gas grills mean?

It indicates the amount of heat required to raise temperature. higher the value does not mean that it cooks more evenly and effectively,higher the ratings shorter the heating up time before the cooking can begin.heat capacity is rated in british thermal unit(BTU),one BTU is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water one.

The BTU rating is there to let you know how hot a gas grill gets. The higher the rating the faster items can be cooked.
