You can plant the bulbs anytime during October thru April and there is a variety of shades, stripes, and multicolored ones to choose from. Plant up to the "neck" of the bulb, patting soil firmly around it and water slightly. Increase water as plant gets bigger. Within 8-10 weeks you should have a bounty of beautiful amaryllis to enjoy!

Make sure you plant them about 6 inches apart in rich soil then after you ahve them all in and covered water when you cover them do not pack the dirt down it will smother the root base on the bulb. And when you water it make sure you only water the soil.

This is a bulbous plant. These are a preferred choice for gardening. If cared for properly they can bear flowers for up to 75 years.

Amaryllis bloom November/December, they are not cold hardy. So inside for winter. But once temps reach 65 degrees, they can go outside. Half the bulb should be above soil level.

If you can find someone that grows them that would be best they could tell you how to start new ones and everything else.

They are easy to grow and they can be grown indoors or out. Get a potting soil with fertilizer in it. Soak the bulbs in lukewarm water for about 2-3 hours to help soften it and prepare for transplant. Keep temperature between 65 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Plant the amaryllis bulbs up to the top in a good moist soil. Place them in a sunny window and do your best to recreate the tropical environment that they come from. They are easy to grow, and if you want a number of them you may try cultivating several at different times.

They are bulbs. Need indirect light. Keep soil moist. Use a pot just big enough for the bulb and put in a stake, they get top heavy and you don't want to damage the roots later. Can also be grown in water. Bloom in 4-6 weeks. May not have leaves.
