What do defensive backs do?

Defensive Backs are the last line of defense for a defense. Their main job is to stop the offense from being able to pass the ball downfield by either catching the ball or knocking it to the ground.

Defensive backs have a wide range of responsiblities. There major one though, is to defend any of the wide receivers, tight ends or running backs against the pass. Also, responsible for tackling (anyone) and reading the quarterback's eyes. Defensive backs usually consist of either cornerbacks and safeties (strong and free).
